Charleston's newest Michelin-starred restaurant was not at all what we expected--and that was part of the fun. Malagón is a tiny, unassuming Spanish tapas bar, with seats at the counter and an atmosphere that feels wonderfully casual despite its recent Michelin star.
We settled in at the bar and shared our way thorugh the menu. The tapas were excellent--simple, authentic and beautifully prepared--accompanied by wonderful bread, olives and a glass of wine. It's the kind of place where the food, rather than the surroundings, is clearly the star.
We loved: the tapas, intimate bar seating and wonderfully unfussy atmosphere.
Perfect for: A casual lunch or dinner and anyone who loves authentic Spanish food.
Would we return? Absolutely.
